The story of Joa People began with a personal challenge faced by our founder, Jina Park. Years ago, while juggling the demands of raising young children, working as an executive for technology company, and maintaining a busy household in Bellevue, Washington, she was suddenly struck by a severe disc illness. Unable to move easily and struggling with daily tasks, she found herself relying on others for help. It was a difficult time for her and her family, but one moment stood out — the realization that there was a significant gap in the availability of reliable, trained, and trustworthy housekeepers or household managers.
As she recovered, Jina began thinking about how many other families must be in the same situation — parents, caregivers, and busy professionals who might need assistance around the home but didn’t have a convenient way to find the right help. Recognizing that the demand for reliable, flexible, and quality housekeepers was growing, she saw an opportunity to create a service that could meet this need — not just for herself, but for others in similar situations.
